Looking in particular for
performers proficient in handling verbal as well as physical comedy
Also looking for female
If you are interested in
auditioning, please come prepared with a song and be ready to dance and read
from script if requested.
All roles are available:
PSEUDOLUS/PROLOGUS – A conniving and manipulative slave. Takes command of the stage. Must possess strong comic skills and timing.
SENEX – A poor, put-upon old man.
DOMINA – His wife – An old battle-axe. Shrewish and shrill. Must sing well.
HERO – An innocent young man in love. A strong singer.
HYSTERIUM – Another slave, nervous, excessively fussy. Must sing and have strong comic skills and timing.
ERRONIOUS - An old man. "A really old man… Ancient."
MILES GLORIOSUS – A Warrior. Bigger than life character. Large and intimidating. In love with himself. Strong singer with great comic skills and timing.
LYCUS – A buyer and seller of courtesans. Slimy and creepy. Be a bit of a used car salesman. Must have great comic skills and timing
PHILIA – A courtesan– Virginal, innocent, beautiful and clueless. Must be a strong singer.
TINTINABULA – A courtesan – Tall, attractive. An amazon maybe. Must be able to dance well.
PANACEA – A courtesan – Attractive. Must be able to dance well.
VIBRATA – A courtesan – Attractive. Cat-like. Wild. Must be able to dance well.
GYMNASIA – A courtesan – Attractive. Looking for tumbling and or gymnastic skills. Must also be able to dance well.
THE GEMINAE - Courtesans. Two look-alike females to play twins. Elegant. Both must dance well
THE PROTEANS - The utility players. Will be looking for 3 to 6. Male or female. Must be good at playing multiple characters at a drop of a hat. Must be good with physical comedy. Must also be able sing and move well. Dance and tumbling skills a plus.
SOLDIERS - Goofy and not very soldier-like. Looking for about 3. Could be male or female.
